The controversial artist Banksy created a new work of art that is critical of the modern lover. Although the lovers are closely intertwined and seemingly in love, instead of looking into each other's eyes they are infatuated with their cell phones. In fact the light on their faces seems to be the glow from their electronic devices. Below is a picture of the piece called "Mobile Lovers."
The work of art was placed on a doorway in Bristol, UK in Banksy's hometown. Currently the work of art has been removed from its original location and has been taken by The Broad Plains Boys Club. The Broad Plains Boys Club has recently brought the mural onto the antiques roadshow and had the piece appraised. Surprisingly the piece has gone for an extremely high price of over $600,000.
Banksy was named one of the most influential people by Time Magazine in 2010. He is known for his social critique and contempt for government policies. Another one of Banksy's works is below. It is of a gangster throwing a bouquet of flowers instead of a molotov cocktail.
